Paramount Trades and Labour are pleased to announce that we now have our own in house Face Fit and Manual Handling trainers.
Why Manual Handling Training?
Injuries caused by poor lifting techniques are one of the most common causes of prolonged time of work in the UK. Musculoskeletal disorders are also a growing source of civil compensation claims as a significant amount of injuries lead to time off work and with the employee suffering a loss. A full recovery is not always made from a musculoskeletal injury. Employers have a duty to avoid hazardous manual handling and where manual handling cannot be eliminated the employer must provide training.
Why Perform a Face Fit Test?
If you provide respiratory protective equipment (RPE) to your employees then it is essential that you have documentary evidence to show the RPE fits the wearer. By subjecting each wearer to a face-fit test you can be sure that your organisation is fulfilling the requirements laid out in the Health & Safety Executives (HSE) guidance note HSE 282/28.
The courses have been developed and delivered in accordance with the law requirements, and are continuous throughout the year with refresher courses given to workers every three years.
What is the aim of both types of training?
- Ensure that all site staff can lift safely and are capable of recognising manual handling risks, making sure they understand the reasons for doing manual handling tasks with the least risk;
- Give a comprehensive overview of how to use Face Fit equipment and successfully Face Fit Test your mask.
